The AI Note Taker Built for Recruiters

Last updated:

Wave AI is an AI note taker that records recruiters' phone screens, video interviews, and in-person onsites, then writes a speaker-labeled transcript and an AI summary you can share with the hiring manager. It works on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web, and is free for 30 minutes a month.

How recruiters use Wave

How do recruiters use an AI note taker?

A recruiter's interviews arrive three ways: phone screens, video calls, and onsite loops. Wave records all three into one library, writes a summary of each candidate conversation, and lets you share it with the hiring manager instead of retyping notes.

  1. Phone screens: call the candidate from Wave's Phone tab, or merge Wave into a call you're on.
  2. Video interviews: record with the Wave desktop app (nothing joins the call) or let the Wave bot join from your calendar.
  3. Onsites: tap record on the Wave mobile app in the room.
  4. After the interview: share the summary or transcript with the hiring manager as a link or email.

How does Wave record a phone screen?

Wave's Phone Bridge places the call from the Wave mobile app with your own verified number as caller ID, so candidates see a normal call from you. Both sides are recorded and summarized. Wave reminds you to tell the candidate before each call and plays them no tone, so the disclosure is yours to make.

  • Works on iPhone and Android.
  • A candidate called you? Tap Record a call you're already on and merge Wave in (needs three-way calling on your carrier plan).
  • Phone-call recording works on every plan. On Free, call minutes count toward the 30 minutes a month; Pro is unlimited, from $80/year on the web.

Can a whole recruiting team use Wave?

Yes, on Wave Teams: one bill, a team console to invite recruiters by email and manage seats, and a private account for each person. Nothing is shared automatically. Each recruiter shares the interviews they choose, and admins see usage, never recordings.

The problems you know too well

You Can't Listen and Write at the Same Time

Typing during an interview means missing follow-up questions and tone. With Wave recording, you can stay in the conversation.

Debriefs Run on Different Memories

When three interviewers remember a candidate differently, the debrief stalls. A shared transcript and summary give everyone the same record.

Write-Ups Slow Down Offers

Strong candidates take other offers while notes get typed up. Wave's summary is ready shortly after the call ends.

Features

Everything you need to capture every conversation

Phone Screen Recording

Wave's Phone Bridge records both sides of phone screens on iPhone and Android, using your number as caller ID. Works on every plan.

Video Interviews Without a Bot

The Wave desktop app for Mac and Windows records Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams interviews from your side, with nothing added to the call.

Interview Summary Template

Wave includes an interview summary template, or save your own format with the questions your scorecard asks.

Speaker-Labeled Transcripts

Every interview is transcribed with speaker labels in 76 languages, so quotes are attributed to the right person.

Share With Hiring Managers

Invite a hiring manager to a single interview by email, send a share link, or export PDF or DOCX. Shared sessions are read-only.

Search Every Candidate Conversation

Wave Assistant answers questions across your interviews, like which candidates mentioned a notice period, with links to the source.
